
Hesamedin H. Sadeghi
Professor Hesamedin Sadeghi is a Senior Member of IEEE and a Visiting Professor at the University of South Carolina, with extensive contributions to electromagnetic compatibility, power system protection, and nondestructive material evaluation.
Background
Professor Hesamedin Sadeghi received the B.S. in electrical engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 1980, the M.S. in power engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, Manchester, U.K., in 1984, and the Ph.D. in electronic systems engineering from the University of Essex, Colchester, U.K., in 1991. He was a Research Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, in 1992, and later joined Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT), where he became a Full Professor. He served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, during 1996-1997, 2005-2006, and 2014-2015. He is currently a Visiting Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of South Carolina, USA.
Award
Dr. Sadeghi holds four patents and has authored or co-authored two books, a book chapter, and over 400 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and international conference proceedings. He received the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society Technical Achievement Award in 2020 and the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society Outstanding Service Award in 2014 and 2019. He is an Associate Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement and the Editor-in-Chief of the AUT Journal of Electrical Engineering.
Research Interests
Dr. Sadeghi is a Senior Member of IEEE, a member of IEEE EMC TC-5, Subcommittee Lightning, and a member of the IEEE PES Working Group on Lightning Performance of Overhead Lines. His research interests include electromagnetic compatibility, power system protection, and electromagnetic nondestructive evaluation of materials.
